Perfect wedding hair with face shape

Wedding hair stylesFrom ancient times, the bride has been celebrated, in poetry and prose, as everything good, pure and beautiful. That's some myth to live up to! Make sure your hair looks it's beautiful best on the big day by following our countdown and getting into good grooming habits now. A great cut and super condition are the ultimate wedding day accessories.

If your face is… oval

You’re a very lucky lady. Your face is in perfect proportion with a narrow forehead and wide cheekbones that taper down into a narrow chin.

* DO Go for any style you want – up, down or anything in between. Because your face is well balanced, you could carry off anything from a short, layered crop to a long sleek style

* DON”T Be afraid to experiment. Avoid heavy fringes or any styles that will hide the shape of your face.

If your face is… round

Your face is as wide as it is long and has a soft outline. The distance from your forehead to your chin is the same as the distance between your cheeks.

* DO Go for a style with height, especially from the top of your ears, as this will lengthen your face. Side partings and layers work particularly well too. A short fringe will lengthen your face and a short cut will make it look thinner.

* DON’T Have a very blunt cut as this will add width to your face. A centre parting will make your face and features look heavier and curly styles or big, long hair will emphasise the roundness of your face.

If your face is… long

Your face is longer than it is wide. You have a wide forehead and a long chin.

* DO Have a fringe. It will help shorten your face and add volume to give the illusion of width. Soften your face with some short layers or go for a bob with a fringe to create horizontal lines. Big curls will balance out a long face.

* DON’T Choose a style with height at the crown or anything too short as this will make your face look longer.

Avoid long, straight one-length cuts as they will make your face look longer and thinner.

If your face is square

Your jaw is the same width as your forehead. You have a broad forehead and angular jawline.

* DO Go for long wispy layers, soft waves or curls, as these will soften the angular lines of your face. Part your hair on the side and comb your fringe away from your face. Wear your hair below your chin in a rounded style to draw the eye away from the jaw and counteract the squareness.

* DON’T Go short or wear your hair up as this will draw attention to your angular features and make your jaw look bigger. Severe geometric cuts such as bobs are also out, as they will emphasise the square shape. Avoid centre partings and don’t scrape your hair back off your face.
